Skills for Law Librarians in Digital Era

About the Workshop :

Law library is laboratory for lawyers, budding lawyers and Law faculties in the Law colleges. Collection development policy is based on user’s requirement. Law library collection consists of both print and non-print materials. The librarian who is working in the library needs to have skills like curation, leadership, subject knowledge in Law, research, technology, discipline to maintain the library and friendliness with users. This workshop is a professional development opportunity designed to provide a basic introduction to such skills law and to empower librarians at all grade levels in law colleges, corporates and special libraries. Workshop participants will discover that the program is designed to help library users and librarians.

The broad objective of this workshop is to :

 The scope of this workshop is to cover the following issues in Law Library 

 

•   Minimum and Maximum Skillsets
•   Reference and Research Skills
  
•   Free and Fee Based Databases
•  Keeping update with current trends

 

Workshop aims at familiarizing these concepts and makes ready and prepared the participants to  understand day to day library activities.

This workshop is a professional development opportunity designed to provide a basic introduction to copyright law and to empower librarians at all grade levels in college,corporate and special libraries. Workshop participants will discover that the law is designed to help library users and librarians.

• Concept of Fair Use

Scholarly Research Work : With Online and Offline Tools

About the Workshop :

The field of social sciences research is very dynamic and evolving at a rapid pace. One has to be updated with the latest tools and techniques of data analysis for the meaningful research in the area of social sciences. Generating data is not a big problem but interpreting the information hidden in the data is a challenging task and it will become simplified if one has the knowledge of using the right tools and techniques for analyzing the data.

Since the research is best learned by hands-on, therefore the Workshop emphasizes on a “DO-IT-YOURSELF” approach. In the Workshop, the participants have to participate actively to understand different tools and techniques used in modern day social sciences research. The Workshop will definitely enrich the participants and help them understand their research problems with different perspectives and from different dimensions.”

The broad objective of this workshop is to :

To equip the participants with the knowledge of different tools and techniques used in the data analysis in modern day social sciences research so that they not only understand the right tools and techniques for their research but also add value to the knowledge domain.
